Re: Standalone controller V4.0

Sorry for the delay, i've been a little busy. Yes I'm interested. What is the price for Brazil?

Re: Hacking the HP45

As I said, although it is discontinued, Digikey has 8k in stock (and there are many other suppliers). And typical time of response on/off is 100 ns. And it supplies 350 ma in all 8 outputs in a 30% dutty cycle. Supposing a dutty cycle of 8 us ( address on, 3 us, primitive on/off 2 us, address off 3u...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Hi Dragonator,

I found this IC that seems more suitable to power the primitive lines:

Is from Allegro and is said discontinued but is largely available (in aliexpress, for sure)

Re: Hacking the HP45

Probably not! I have a book of Matt Gilliland, "Inkjet Applications" (2005), with foreword by Frank Cloutier, "Chief Technology Officer for HP's Imaging & Printing Group", what seems to me that author know what is saiyng. This book treat of hp 51604A cartridge, a 12 nozzles. ...

I'm looking forward to seeing your 10V tests on the primitives!

Re: Hacking the HP45

During this time, I made some tests and printing here using the L293 and now using a mosfet transistor to do the primitives pulse. I have success on that, but for some reason, I burned out my cartridge. Probrably I exceeded 22.5Vμs, and I guess the voltage and the timing have a very tight requireme...

Re: Hacking the HP45

I have one unresolved issue that is a major headache. I cannot pulse all 14 primitives at once. I need to pulse 5,5 and 4. Else I am getting misfires. HP seems to manage just fine, driving the head as fast as humanly possible, all primitives on one address all at once. I have no clue whatsoever why...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Despite your objection to the accuracy of the logical analyzer (200 ns), I think it is not enough to explain the divergence between the measured values and those indicated in the patent. What catches my attention the most is the interval between firing the address line and firing the primitive line....

Re: Hacking the HP45

From the files from acastel, I think the following measures are worth considering:
primitive pulses to warming = 0.6 us
primitive pulses to print = 2.2 to 2.4 us
address pulse duration before applies primitive pulses=~12 us
