Re: Hacking the HP45

I mean posting stuff is totally fine, it's just that you have to think if what you're posting is going to be useful to the discussion or not. Without any context on the post, it's definitely not useful.

Re: Hacking the HP45

@inkjet Can you stop spamming random article abstracts? It's not super helpful imho and I'd put it firmly in the spam category.

Re: Hacking the HP45

The other option is that you can use DMA on the motion controller and have it send out a sort of clock signal to the inkjet controller to perfectly synchronize the two. This may, however, be based on a lack of understanding on how you'e synchronizing them now. Do you mind going into a little bit mor...

Re: Hacking the HP45

DMA can be difficult to get right, but I definitely think it's the right direction. Theoretically, if you built a board from the ground up, you could use DMA to control the stepper motors and the inkjet head based on the same timer so that everything would be perfectly synchronized.

Re: Hacking the HP45

Hello Masic 1- The HP45 can be refilled with some effort. I have before. The blue ink in Oasis started out clear. I simply added blue to it. 2- They should exist already, though I do not have them myself. It should not be impossible to modify one to CISS. 3- I currently print 50mm/s. I am currently...

I went ahead and submitted a quote, but have not heard back yet.

Re: Hacking the HP45

I'm currently looking into the HV57908 because it looks like it can support high voltage outputs for up to 64 outputs at the same time. I'm trying to figure out what the difference between driving the primitive outputs and the address lines are. As best I can recall, this is a current driven applica...

Re: Hacking the HP45

I see. I don't mind using either, and if we don't need the space, that's good. My goal is to eventually make a board that can handle 5 of these, so that's why I presumed I would need more room. I'm also going to have to make sure I have a really reliable current source.

Re: Hacking the HP45

It looks nice! Can you release some documentation or schematics on that controller? What do you want to change in the next version besides going to 0603? Also, what don't you like about 0402 components?
