Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hi everyone, I am having some issues and was wondering if anyone else has run into something similar. If I let my Xaar setup sit for a while then come back to start working on it again, I can't get it to print. Then if I change some of the Arduino pin definitions it will start working again. Specifi...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Thanks for the help davidk. So your main ink reservoir is just open to atmospheric pressure and the ink is gravity fed to the ink damper? Did you have any trouble controlling the flow of ink so that your prints wouldn't be saturated? And maxt, I have just been using an Arduino Mega which can output ...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

davidk, Could you please send me some pics of your ink supply system? I am trying to use an espon ink damper in my design such as you but cannot seem to get consistent ink flow without air bubbles in my hose lines. Specifically, I either get way too much ink flow and ink bleeds a lot or I get way to...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what height difference they found worked the best relative to this picture in order to create the negative pressure the print head needs? I was thinking of having the print head about 10cm higher then the ink level?

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on best practices printing with ink? I don't have any capping system set up so my plan was to print with ink then use a syringe to pump IPA through the head to clean it after tests so that ink doesn't dry inside the head, does this sound reasonable?...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hey guys, I am using Kyles code but had some questions/wanted to verify some things before I plugged in my print head and possibly fried it. When I use Kyles code as is, the order of power on/down sequencing of the supplies is as follows: Power on 1) Vdd turns on then off 2) VPPH/VPPL turn on Power ...
