Zatsit: Novel Delta mechanics using polypropylene hinges

Marc Peltier has been working on a super-lightweight delta mechanic, based on an aluminum/polypropylene 'living hinge' sandwich material (his videos explain it better), and a lightweight water cooled hotend. The speeds he's achieved for vase-style prints are simply amazing. The mechanical-only kit i...

That should do what you require, hardware wise.

Re: Hacking the HP45

From my BrubdleFab experiments, I discovered that encoders can suck if you try to use them in a PID loop for head positioning - but if you PID loop the encoder for motor _velocity_, and use the position encoder to trigger the specific ink pattern at the current position, it works great. Saturation c...

Re: Zprint 7.10 or 310+ heater activation

I feel remiss that I haven’t checked this forum for ages! Anyhow, glad to see someone else has a z310+! Heater control can be done manually in the “experiment” menu on the Z310+ - hook up a keyboard and VGA monitor, and press “?” for the help menu once it boots. As for the HP10 heads, I’ve had good ...

Re: EPSON TM-C600/TM-C610

I have made a CUPS printer driver for this printer: https://github.com/ezrec/epson-tm-c610 I never did the 3D printer option, but makes a nice 'party printer' when combined with a Raspberry PI Wifi running CUPS with AirPrint enabled. Guests have a lot of fun printing out their selfies nigh-instantly.

Re: Oasis 3DP printer

I agree with Phillip. Here's a 50% cutaway of what I was working on. The belt path is continuous, and the middle rod (cut in half here) would have GT-2 pulleys on it to grab the belt. The over-under rollers near the walls are reversed on the other side, so that the belt moves appropriately. The feed...

Re: Hacking the HP45

The Oasis design is nice, but have you considered a 'glide rail' on the front instead of a cantilever?

A derlin block resting on a 8mm rod would be sufficient.

This would also allow you to use the rear bearing as hinge to lift up the arm for underside maintenance.

HP Inkjet Journal article

Old, but excellent, technical reference on the theory and practicalities of the HP Inkjet technologies:

I shudder to think how long it took for them to do their droplet simulations in 1985!
