Re: Ricoh printheads

I have been using LinuxCNC for motion control complex inkjet printers for many years. I can even control 5-axis systems.

Re: Ricoh printheads

You use a drop watcher to check on the drop formation while jetting, This is how you tweak the ink formulation as well as the firing waveform. Inkjet manufacturers keep everything secret since they want complete control of the entire system from fluids to heads and software. Approval for your ink to...

Re: Ricoh printheads

Now you are finding out how Xaar makes money from charging you to have a waveform placed into the heads flashrom. The heads used for UV inks are the models with built in heaters. You can run UV inks through unheated heads like you might see with the modified Chinese Epson UV desktop printers but the...

For using aqueous look at the older Epson piezo heads.

Re: Hacking the HP45

We used to put solvent through the HP45's and the Lexmark TIJ. Mostly ethanol/methanol. What are trying to do with acetone and powdered plastics? Solvent weld plastic powders? Acetone has a pretty high vapor pressure so it will dry in the heads if left uncapped. I can supply you with UV curable bind...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

You will not only need pinouts but all the timing diagrams. They far more complex than the xaar 128 heads. But you can program the firing wave forms.

Re: Hacking the HP45

@nicolasgr

The Xaar 128's can print a binder for sand or other powders. It just can't be aqueous since it is a shared wall design the fluids can not be conductive.

@yeswanthnag

Do you have apart number? Why the KM heads? I'd look at Ricoh for reliability.

Re: Hacking the HP45

@nicolasgr

The HP45 cartridges are only good for about 1-2L of fluid before they start dropping nozzles. You won't be able to print a very large sand mold or core using them unless you have lots of them.

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

@ BlueTurtle
You want the ink at a slight negative pressure entering the heads. -100 to -800 Pascal.
