Re: Hacking the HP45

I was thinking - if you used a mineral oil bath, you wouldn't even need to worry about potential short circuits, and could immerse the whole cartridge.

Re: Hacking the HP45

I really like that 'warm bath' solution! Quite innovative!

It will also allow you to easily see when the jets fire, and if the bath is still instead of circulating, you should even be able to see which jet fired.

Re: Hacking the HP45

I would suggest that for your application, you focus on the ribbon cable to the printhead controller, personally, instead of the printhead itself. I did some prior work for the HP F4480, which seems to use a similar controller, but my scope was not up to the job: http://www.evillabs.net/index.php/Pr...

Re: The T60 power armor

An 'easy' safety would be to make the locking pins out of a material that will hold the weight of the suit while at rest, but would be sheared by a human exerting force on them.

Like 10mm balsa rods, or hydro-cured ZP150 cylinders :D

Re: The T60 power armor

So long as in April 2017 we don't read the headline:

"Prop designer found dead in apartment, locked in his own power armor when he fell on his back."

Re: Hacking the HP45

Sounds like a reasonable plan.

I look forward to your results.

Re: Hacking the HP45

I can confirm that with the HP10 heads on the Z310+ printer, thermal sensor monitoring is 'up front and center' in almost all of its self checks and diagnostics w/respect to the printhead. Normal operating range is 25C-50C Anything above 80C is considered to be a 'critical alert' and will shut down ...

Re: Material Research: Sake + Sugar/Meringue Powder

The powder sticks to the grooves in the pulleys, and causes the belt to slip instead of be pulled by the pulley.

A toothpick and 5 minutes time cleared the problem right up.

Re: Material Research: Sake + Sugar/Meringue Powder

Luckily, it only jammed the toothed pulleys, not the motors themselves.

Re: Material Research: Sake + Sugar/Meringue Powder

.. and now the maltodextrin dust has crawled up inside my motors and jammed them.

Time for a teardown/rebuild of the Z310.
