Re: The T60 power armor

Does this rubber cement also work on wood, or did you only try it on metal. The spray glue I use can be used on one side of the to be glued pieces to get a reusable stickiness or on both sides to get a permanent stick. I hope that if I use it on the paper side, the glue will mostly stay on the paper...

Re: The T60 power armor

This project is afoot (get it?) I worked on the power armor this weekend. The goal was to cut, assemble and test the feet. The mechanisms in the feet will come later. The foot of the armor is a 25(ish)cm thick block under my foot. It houses the foot autolatch and the locking pin that connects it to ...

Re: Ithaca POSJet 1500

This is the first time I saw a HP C6602 in an original printer. The contacts are on the bottom, which made printing in powder difficult. The gap was not as small as it could have been. I see that when it prints on paper the paper twists under the printhead, giving more room to the contacts. How clos...

Re: Hacking the HP45

From what I heard, the HP23 is basically the same, but with 96(?) nozzles for every color. This means no different multiplexing from the HP45. The swatch size on color is considerably smaller than on black. The voltage driver circuit sounds interesting. I wonder how much the voltage (and temperature...

Re: Ithaca POSJet 1500

A tiny printer with a programming guide. That is something that you don't see anymore these days. Life would have been so much better if they supplied modern inkjet printers with programming guides. If a tiny 3D powder printer is the goal, it would make for a perfect platform. A printer that can tes...

Re: Hacking the HP45

INK!!! I got ink to eject! I went to the Ulti evening last night ( https://ultimaker.com/en/community/19573-ulti-evening-february-22nd ). It was neat to see the technology again, and I got to see Aad van der Geest again, the guy that has made powder printers since the first inkjet printers came out....

Re: Hacking the HP45

Hacking report, day 2 There is continuity. I connected the ground of the printhead to a 10kohm resistor (to ground) and a 1uF capacitor. I then ran a series of programs. First single pulses, then A burst of quick pulses. I am not sure all resistors are functioning optimally, but at least there is co...

Re: Hacking the HP45

A quick followup, by heating the printhead (over a cup of hot coffee) the thermal sense rose to 321ohm, while the 10x remained mostly 303ohm.

My only hope now is that there is no ink in my coffee, both are black.

Re: Hacking the HP45

The whole thing is common ground for the printhead. Wouldn't the thermal sense and 10x go to the same common ground? My printhead lacks the copper circles, bit it does have one hole in it. I took the liberty to measure the hole against the common ground. There is about 2ohms of resistance between co...

Re: The T60 power armor

They can always be replaced later if I decide that aluminium is too strong. Designing a controlled failure into something like this is quite difficult, but I hope I can make it safe enough without it. The foot design should be done after this weekend, or at least near completion. If I get the next p...
