however I assume that neither of you has succesfully printed with an UV ink with the XAAR-128 ? and not with a water based ink ?

Hi, I'm not intending to formulate my inks, but I'd like to avoid buying water based inks (whomever formulated them) if they will ruin a 200€ printhead. On the other hand, if neither water based inks nor UV inks can work with this head, then this head is not suited for me (hope it is) regards Massimo

I don't think there's much difference between the old zcorp stuff and the new one. Brand is the same and it behaves similarly to what you describe, though probably does not compress to 1/2 it's original size. At most they have just changed slightly whatever additive they add to the plaster and label...

hi,
here's a photo of the "official" powder grains taken with an electronic microscope. See the surfaces are fairly smooth (within reason) which gives a very appropriate rehology.
