Generic powder machine controller
Hi, I'm designing an electronic controller for small powder machines (no long distance signal). I try to make it a generic configurable control box. The hardware is based on, - 500MHz 32bit processor with FPU and 64MByte RAM for print image processing; - 16MByte flash + TF card for storage; - FPGA f...

Re: PowderMaker1 3DP printer
The problem with acrylic is: it deforms. So for next build I'll use laser cut aluminium and cnc machined aluminium.
This version will use epson printhead. The life time of the head can jet about 22 litter liquid, which hopefully will print more than 100 kg powder.

Re: The Z400 adventure
That's really cool. What slicing software this Z400 is using? is it capable of printing in colour?

Re: PowderMaker1 3DP printer
We know how to control a few Xaar and EPSON printheads. Although they are not fully tested, they should work to deliver the basic function. The TIJ head like HP45 still remains as an option for its lowest cost and simplicity.

Re: PowderMaker1 3DP printer
it's going to be made from PMMA, aka acrylic, sheets. So it's probably not strong enough to hold metal powders. However, acrylic is easy to cut with laser and easy to be glued or screwed together, besides acrylic is one of the strong plastic normally available. There will be no top surface sheet. Th...

PowderMaker1 3DP printer
PowderMaker1 is a desktop 3DP printer I'm currently building. The basic specification is as below, - Build volume: 17cm x 20cm x 18cm(H); - dual cylinder structure, no heater so far; - roller diameter 35mm for a denser powder bed; - printhead: piezo inkjet; (Epson, Xaar, Ricoh, etc) - "ink"...

Re: color 3dp slicer software
I wrote a slicer that can do just that. It is by no means finished, and the current version has the texture stuff disabled because I was trying to control a mixing FDM printer first, and then finish the texture stuff. If you are really interested and have a printer that would work with this, I can ...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead
Is it possible to mix oil/solvent based ink with acetone? and the powder could be PVC powder + PMMA power. The acetone will melt them and hopefully forms solid 3D shape?
