Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hello Everyone, I've made a board with LED driver, 3 stepper Drivers (TMC2130), on board voltage regulator 28-36V for the Xaar as well as other drive circuitry required for the Xaar Printhead that uses Teensy 4.0 as the brains. There are SPI lines broken out for for further expansion as well as 4 di...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hi, This is my setup. You can see the damper above the head, the capping station I built (with a silicone band gasket and peristaltic pump), the reservoir and of course a print sample. The sample print is 8 times overprint microweaved. My head has a full blocked nozzle and many nozzles are deflecti...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Okay sounds good. I’ve read your posts and as far as I understand you are using a vacuum pump and seal the head against it to vacuum the ink. I was thinking about using something similar.

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Thank you for your response... I guess I fried my Xaar head need to get a new one   ... What kind of booster are you using? I'm really hesitant using a cheap boost converter off of amazon/ebay because of transient voltage peaks that one might encounter during powerup.

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hello everyone... I'm having some trouble with my Xaar 128.. The printer was working fine with Kyle's code (https://github.com/gkyle/xaar128/blob/master/xaar128.h) with a simple addition of stepper motor header file and class but for some reason it stopped working... I'm using a 36V power supply wit...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hi, Indeed, working with high voltages and digital signals can be troublesome. For a prototype setup like ours, I would use relays. What ink do you use? How do you store the printhead so it won't clog? Yeah as of now I use relays but I will try mosfets too. I just use an alcohol based ink and the p...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hey everyone, I have gotten the printhead to work and can print what ever pattern I want but I have another question before I fry anything. I have seen all of you use relays to control the 35Vs and I was wondering if I can use Mosfets rather than relays. The documentation states in the page 35 that ...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Hey Restani, if you have a working schematic to drive the XAAR 128 can you please share it? I would be really happy! Thanks and have a nice day everyone. There is a Xaar thread in this forum: http://ytec3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=47&p=1709#p1709 Xaar printheads have all the electronic...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Hi Dragonator! Hi everyone! I thought about putting the version 1.01 that it showed in the forum. My knowledge in electronics and programming is quite reasonable. I made some impressions using the C6602 but I did not take the project forward because I thought of something more interesting. I'm also...
