Re: Hacking the HP45

Dragonator, on your design, did you try with two TLC pons parralelled? On my math it should provide enough current for firing all 14 nozzles.

Re: Hacking the HP45

I don't think so. Their answer regarding Vboost tells me they won't disclose infos to hobbysts. As if inkjet printing would be such a mass hobby :-). Still, this chip can be found in online stores, which means someone in this world uses it in a mass produced device as is, not renamed. However, there...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Or maybe find a printer that uses L6452. I suppose ST made this chip available to everyone, you ca buy it from stores, so there must be an old printer using it! I would buy one if I could know! I see your point - printer makers may hide its code behind an 8 digit marking but since this chip is avail...

Re: Hacking the HP45

I was thinking of parallelling two TLC lines for each primitive. This way we have 400mA for each primitive.

Re: Hacking the HP45

Interesting, I like the design. Do you think now you'll be able to fire all 14 primitives at once? I see you use the same TLC59213 which can supply 200mA per output when all output source power. Another question, why do you need Q3 and the comparator? LE: Ok, reading page 8 again gave me the answer ...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Hi, can you, please, tell more about variable voltage regulator? Why do you need one? Thanks!

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Well, I made my setup and filled the printhead with water. I managed to build a capping station with a home made cap and a peristaltic pump. I made the arduino software so it sends "1" to each nozzle and fire it 1000 times at 5ms interval. The problem is, the head printed with water with l...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Wher can I find a cap for xaar128? I tried on different websites but I find cappings for epson dx5 and other wider heads.

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Oh I see. Maybe you can find an outdoor or banner printing facility and ask nice if they have a printer with this head and try to test it. First you have to be sure your Xaar is good or faulty.
