Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead
Hi. Yes, sorry, I am still here, but we have a medical emergency. I'll be back in a few weeks.

Re: Hacking the HP45
"entscheident" -> critical, as in: the temperature is critical for the release of the drop.

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead
Yes, the 1001 is a whole different monster in itself. It has a completely different interface as far as I can tell, but no documentation seem to exist, and unless someone will pay Xaar for the documentation and a developer kit, I see no way to get to that information. Is your printhead mounted in so...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead
Hi Philipp, The head has only a single waveform that it generates internally. It needs well regulated 35V via two separate lines. The droplet size is fixed, but at 40pl or 80pl quite small. I can fire at 4kHz, so a decent rasterisation should be possible. I am currently adding the head to my printer...

Re: Hacking the HP45
Looking great! You managed to squeeze things close together very nicely. I hope it'll work.
It's a longer drive (Düsseldorf), but I can offer you to use my pick'n'place and my oven if you plan to make more than one PCB.

Re: Oasis 3DP printer
This looks really fantastic! I like the Y axis vertical design as it allows for an arbitrary number and size of ink cartridges. A horizontal design would be more limiting, you have plenty of height available, and the horizontal design could get in the way of the spreader. I also like the design of t...

Re: Hacking the HP45
If you want to get the pin count down, you could use a CPLD chip like the Altera 3000 to create an SPI interface to control all the pins. SPI can be connected to many CPUs via hardware SPI interfaces or with the Arduino Due even via DMA, reaching 1Mbits per seconds easily, and 8Mbits with some preca...

Re: Hacking the HP45
You can save yourself at least four chips. There are source drivers out there with serial input. Simply clock in the first bit, then shift, latch, shift, latch, etc. . This one is 8 bits with also 500mA, but i recall that there are 10, 14 and even 64 bits available. http://ww1.microchip.com/download...
