Re: Hacking the HP45

can any one help to confirm what's the chip number on the original HP45 pen drive (C8855m)? I got two possible versions: 1821-5613 and 1825-0057, also the 1826-4353 seems capable of same job.

Re: Hacking the HP45

That's what I've got so far from ST regarding the L6452. So I'm wondering if I should just use discrete transistors to drive those nozzles. Re: Hacking the HP45

the rising and falling edges seem to be slow. Have you applied the 20MHz BW filter? Those signals are too clean in the first picture, I always got over-shot and rings on my digital signals, maybe just my bad. also, what do you mean by 1 pulse burst and 3 pules burst? in pic1 there's more than 1 puls...

Re: Hacking the HP45

I'm really surprised that you didn't see the distortion of the pulses when all 14 channels were fully on. There are couple of reasons, 1. the digital ICs, especially those with registers, do not seem to have decoupling capacitor (unless they are hidden beneath the ICs). The high speed switching may ...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Forgive my frankness, a breadboard for such high current pulses may not be sufficient. I don't know how you measured the pulses, btw, what's the spec of your scope?

Re: Hacking the HP45

a little off topic, regardless the capacity of the ink filled, are the HP45 and the HP15 identical cartridge in terms of all other specification?

Re: Hacking the HP45

The L6452 datasheet (p3/22) shows that the transistors used to drive the power line are NMOS FETs, which means they need boost voltage to make high side driving.
