Re: Standalone controller V4.0

Great, good news. I have already started testing materials and printing based on 3rd version controller, so when 4th is ready, it might be great timing for tests. I will also start some sharing, when I get something good from materials and process point of view :)

Re: Standalone controller V4.0

@Dragonator, how are you doing with new head controller? Any updates? :)

Thanks.

Re: Hacking the HP45

I have put the UDN2987 on my list of considerations. It has a latch, can handle the voltages and does seem to be (barely) fast enough. The discontinued status and max 1000ns response time do worry me a bit though. Once I am certain that the TLC59213 is indeed the bottleneck I will see if this chip ...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Yvo, glad you started working on controller v4. Really looking forward. Perhaps you remember me, we talked via email regarding encoder tape I had, which was of wrong resolution and thus head was not printing. I finally managed to get correct encoder tape and I though I will move discussion here as i...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hi, I work with the development of 3D printing materials for SLA, i.e. UV curing materials (not inkjet in particular, but chemistry is more or less the same). So if there are some people willing to try and discuss something, I might make some reasoned samples from materials on hand in my lab to test...

Re: Hacking the HP45

I had to get the schematic out because I forgot that the address order is not actually 1-22 but is optimized for routing the PCB. If each of these was the only pin to be 12V, this is good. The order you described is the order of the addresses. All addresses you measured seem to be working, which ma...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Well, I just did some measurements and I am not really sure that all is OK here.... so your help would be OK. I executed ARS and then after each ANX I measured all pins and looked the one with 12V. I did not go through all this time, but if the order is all right, I will finish that... The sequence ...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Oh and by the way. Do you think that flawed HP45 head can damage controller? I was just thinking, how to approach further steps if my current head is somewhat damaged. If something is shorted, is there a chance that controller will not handle that and cause damage tos ICs etc? I will solder 2nd cont...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Well, with reprinted FDM parts it seems that connections looks better. At least temp is displayed all the time. Also, when I touch the end, it increases, so some kind of response is observed. However, this time, it does not test the head. When I test it, it shows 0/300, which is not that good. I bou...

Re: Hacking the HP45

Good question, but I have gold plated. These were, obviously, way more expensive as well. I finished reprinting parts with FDM (older ones were SLA made), so I will give it a try later. By the way, I used parts from source package, not the make package as I was not able to see any difference. Are th...
