Re: The Z400 adventure

the percentage of tween 20 is around 0.2% - 0.3% of the water/alcohol volume. Something like 10 to 15 drops every half a liter

Re: The Z400 adventure

I am not yet at the point of throwing the powder away, but it is odd. The part is not really brittle. After a day of drying, the part can easily be handled. It is just that the binder bleeds significant amounts (2-3mm), completely ruining the part. I tried reducing the saturation, but that did noth...

Re: The Z400 adventure

Hi Dragonator, saw your blog post on the first print, well done ! if you're using zcorp powder then the water/alchool binder should be just fine. If you got a brittle part this should be related to the quantity of binder ejected. Probably not enough. Don't know if the control SW allows you to regula...

Re: PowderMaker1 3DP printer

Hi david maxt, thanks for your input. Re the commercialisation, it is a bit early to tell as I'm not sure about the total cost and the actually performance it can pls keep us posted on the progress. Regarding the powder, it's pretty expensive, unfotunately. List price is around 80€/Kg and it's only ...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

And maxt, I have just been using an Arduino Mega which can output 5V. I Branden, thanks, I know about arduino, however if I do this it has be a full color printer. I.e. 5 heads. I rule out arduino cause I doubt it would be able to drive and synch all of these heads. Some recent teensy (3.3V) should...

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

Hi guys, how do you raise the 3.3V levels of the teensy signals to the 5V that the XAAR expects ?
thanks in advance

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

I really have no ideea and they don't explain this in datasheet. I understand from datasheet that the non wetting models are harder to care because of the nozzle plate coating. They can't be wiped in fact you can never touch the nozzle plate because the coating will be damaged. yeah, that was my un...

anybody knows what's the difference between wetting and non wetting versions of this printhead ? Cost the same, which one is preferable in which application ?

thanks

Re: Hacking the Xaar 128 printhead

hi,
and thank you for avoiding me a lot of troubles... I'll have to look into the solvent based inks, if they fit my application. Certeinly not for the plaster powder... Any clue what kind of solvent are these inks based on ?
thanks
