Is Primitive side = HP45 side? So pogo pins sticking out of the primitive side?

Address side needs to face the HP45 with the text (and the components) facing away from the printhead. The primitive side is on top of that (with a roughly 5mm spacing) also with the text facing away from the printhead.

Address side has components on only one side so it can be mounted flush against a carrier.

@dragonator -could you please take a closeup picture of the assembled controller for reference when you have a chance. I don't want to screw this up.

EDIT:
Ignore it. I found the picture. You have exactly what I need on page 17.

The lack of write-up is also bothering me a little bit, but I am absolutely buried in work right now and have most of my little free time on Oasis. Don't expect it for at least a couple more weeks. Around Christmas I have some free time. Around that time I should be able to make the first draft of the write-up.

Don't worry about it that much. I think these photos pretty much explains how to assemble the HP45 controller V1.01. If not we can always ask for additional info. I will definitely have more questions after I assemble one.

Fantastic site, fantastic thread !!!
I wonder how come I didn't found it earlier ! we would have been progressed a lot. I am interested to buid a printer for a flat surface.

I have read the hole thread on fast forward mode. Please excuse me if I will ask things that have been already discussed !

Regarding connector :
Did you had a look on TIJ 2.5 ?
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.asp ... 483ENW.pdf

Looks that C4557-60105 HP5164A Pogo Pin Connectors it's what we need.

I found as well :
http://www.cfconn.com/product-show_14712/
https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ ... 31158.html

I would like to help ! what should I do ?
How is the integration with L6452 ? I may help here.

Happy New Year from Bucharest Romania !

Hello and welcome

The connector link has plenty of nice parts, though I wonder if any of it is available to ordinary consumers in normal quantities. I do like that I can see the carrier. I can see if I can replicate it. I am very curious about getting a pen controller (C8855M) in the future. I now have the documentation (sadly I have not been given permission to publish openly :(, but contact me for a copy) to control it, which gives some really nice details on how the HP45 is supposed to work. I will condense what it says into a few posts later.

The Chinese vendors are really interesting. The pogo pin connectors should be a direct fit to a HP45. The only thing I am really curious about is the function of the additional components on the board.
