OK I will try it today. I download that file from somewhere 2 years ago, I produce that PCB and I did not have time to finish and I went to Nederland and bought color pod from AVG. now I have a time to do that pcb. but I dont need printer I need only marker, so as you said something maybe changed at this time.
ok so I will only change pcb way.

I find also another question ..
I used 2N7002 Mosfet at Q1,Q2
but you used PMV20XNER
when I look that circuit its only using for clock ( am I right ? )

I hope its not a big problem.

If you swap HEN and TSR (cut the traces and add new wired) it should work.

So, the hp45 and hp51641A have the same footprint for the connecter, but will this circuit work for both of them ?

The HP45 shares it's footprint with quite a few heads, but internally I can not guarantee that they are the same. All the CMY heads have 3 smaller rows of colored nozzles, not 2 large rows like with the HP45.

Short answer, I can only guarantee that the HP45 is compatible.

Where can we find the patents for those cartridges? I tried to search but couldn't find anything about it. Will HP provide such info if we contact them?

I do have a small list of patents that might be interesting:
  • EP0705695B1: HP45 function and layout
  • EP0707967B1: The same but patenting something else
  • US5648805: I think the US patent for one of the above
  • US6866364: How a printer is made from HP45 I think
  • US5363134: A pre HP45 head
  • US5635968: One of the printheads with only 4 rows of contacts and 100ish nozzles
You can find the patents in something like google patents. Some of the patents hold most of the information you need to hack a printhead.

Hello Nabi,

If anyone would invest the time trying it, I think it would be possible. All the required parts seem to be there, and I think you can have enough control to integrate it into a diy printer. Do you have any special interest in full color heads?

However I am not going to pursue products like the Mbrush. I want to have full nozzle by nozzle control of what I am printing. When I do find more time I already have a few options for full color printing. One compatible with the HP45 family, and one based on I think a Canon head that SpriteTM hacked a while ago.

I am testing head and all seems good, but could you help me to understand what was the purpose of VHEAD pins? It seems like separate power for head? I am more or less talking about that connection pin next GND and 12V terminal.

I have completely redesigned Oasis for metal printing and I hope after quarantine I will start making some first tests.
