A wide variety of low cost near visible uv led curing units, and 365 nm uv led curing units are available. Many of these low cost units are combination uv emitting leds and a power supply. I am considering cutting one up and using it on an optical microscope to measure Xaar deposited uv curing resins. There are a variety of Xaar approved uv curing inks available.

Do you have your printhead running off Kyle's driver or did you write your own?

If ink accumulate on the bottom plate, check the vacuum. Ink level should be about few cm below the bottom plate.

Hi hunterhach,

When you tried unclogging using the syringe you may have used a force greater than the XAAR could bear! I saw this happening here with Seiko 510 heads!
I'm having the same difficulty as you! I use the Kyle project with an Arduino Mega and all the nozzles are fired, I could not shoot individually!

Hunterhach,

I will describe the cleaning procedures I have successfully used on XAAR 128 and Seiko 510 heads:

- Using a syringe with cleaning solution compatible with the ink (VERY IMPORTANT: some cleaning solutions react with paints and they finish coagulating and can clog the nozzles) try to remove all the ink by injecting the solution in the head;
- After a few attempts it is possible to place the head in a clean ultrasonic with cleaning solution and, slowly pull this solution with the syringe engaged in the ink inlet of the head;
- Intermediate these operations a few times always with clean solution

I'm sorry but I have no experience with this type of equipment, I'm learning, I only intend to help with what little I saw working!
