Different powders compress at different levels. You should not compress the powder in the funnel, or it will not flow. The powder around the finnished model is quite compact, not physically compressed, but still dense from rolling it on. For plaster, I'd guess it's 110% to 120%, for sugar, I'd guess 120%-130%, and PVA and all the lighter ingredients could probably go up to 140%.

maybe someone knows which stuffing box
use in the funnel between the cultivator shaft and the funnel
so that the powder does not leak can the oil seal fit
or something else on a cotton basis

Hi MAsic12345

Do you have considered to separate the powder-spraying roller and print-head carriage two parts.
When spraying powder, it's easy powder would drop on printhead plate and also carriage belt, gears and so on.
If you liked this idea, you could move carriage to the left first(or carriage module and head health module at left) and moving roller spraying again.

Another ideas, I would have a closed boxes to carriage module and spraying module.

I checked HP 3DP 3200, there are many special ideas, maybe it's useful.

Hi MAsic12345

As you posted picture, may I ask what motor your choice is.
Do you concern "backlash" ?

Hi MAsic12345
I meant the inkjet carriage module printing in forward-backward needed the address(location) precise accuracy.
The gears-chain would occur backlash.
Many years ago, my project used step-motor to drive carriage,Once thousand times printing, there was found addressing inaccuracy.
Though there was a sensor to locate home, it was still inaccuracy, however powder spring wave would affect sensor detecting.

If your theme choosed DC motor, there would be an encoder. You could get a precise address when using strip type nor wheel type.
But, powder still a problem for encoder, especially there is a long length at printing.
I like HP 3DP 3200 method at this, maybe useful for you.

I also found you changed the belt direction as attached. What is your purpose?

for carriage movement (left to right) chose encoder linear
to move the portal (in front to back) I thought to put a linear encoder too
I was thinking about dust protection but did not attach much importance, I will think about it (already even the ildei appeared)

I put 2 stepper motors on the portal (front to back movements)
if in your experience stepper motors can’t cope with the task, I will try to use PWM motors

The project has two portals (portal for deployment) and (print portal)
deployment portal connected by two belts to one shaft

With the HP 3DP 3200 can take a lot of ideas. I can’t find information on its work. Can you help?

Hi myying
Please ref. HP 3DP 4200 idea.
1 how dangerous is my design
2 how important is it to consider the attention of host protection?
3 well with the portal (print) there is a solution and what can be done with the portal (Rolling powder)?

Hi MAsic12345

Hope your design is pleased the marketing need nor engineer's interesting.
Even HP owns many tech, HP announced they would join 3DP, Barcelona office also postponed many times.

I checked Z-cooperation many products to model 650, once HP delivered 3DP, obviously HP better, however HP 3DP cost very high.
My project(closed) was similar design ideas as you, we faced many issues, hope you can conquer them.

If I did stand your step, I would check myself real know-how.
For instance,
Do I(my team) know printhead control detail nor hacker? (even Z used HP's printer module)
Does team have printer mech. design and manufacture experience?
how length between printhead to media? how to fix the length at manufacture?
how to clean printhead?
and many know-how inside printer?
Does team have motor control expertiser?
Does team have material(powder) and ink know-how? we faced print-out deformation.
And the other, like thermal, ink delivery system, what spray roller coating is ...and so on.
