Hello everybody
can someone give information about closed encoders
maybe someone came across this the task is to put such an encoder so that the powder does not clog
and here I’m puzzling how to do it

It depends a bit. Do you need a linear encoder or a rotary encoder.

My optical linear encoders have yet to give me much trouble. I know these are also in my Zcorp printer.

If you insist on having a fully closed encoder, search for "incremental rotary encoder" and you will get plenty of closed rotary encoders.

One more thing is lathes and mills sometimes have digital readouts. These use digital rulers that are incredibly robust. These run on machines that spew metal chips around. How exactly they work I do not know, but they are a sort of encoder.

Hi dragonator

Rummaged yesterday in the intern and found good encoders with a different class of accuracy
based on magnetic tape yes they are used in machine tools and they have good protection

https://www.rls.si/en/products/linear-m ... l-encoders

dragonator
I will use the linear encoder type
What do you think which class of encoder accuracy to choose for the head HP 84/85 1 micron 10 microns 50 microns? and frequency can also be selected

Hi MAsic1234
Wow, it's expensive for choosing magnetic encoder.
You could use this idea.

Hi myying
can use the type of film strip to move the portal
but need a reliable encoder to move the carriage
it is difficult to protect the place where the carriage with heads moves

Hi MAsic12345
You could find encoder from any HP MFP, printer, or reach to Broadcom sales. (Broadcom merged HP's IC company)
There is MJF 4200 encoder used to their other similar products, HP would always use leverage concept for their products.
You could check HP Latex 3000, MJF 4200 many design from Latex 3000.
Maybe you could check HP service manual or youtube video, patents, all are open data

Might your design be none HP wide page printhead idea, you could use a cap to prevent powder(or checking HP MJF580 printhead carriage).

And the others, I am interesting your design and choices, example service station...and so on.

Hello
here I drew protection for the portal
everything seemed fine and went on to draw the next modules
when I decided to put the working area and see the movement,
I realized that I had not looked so much before
it can happen to anyone :D

maybe someone has some ideas? how can I fix this so as not to lengthen the printer
my opinion is not to use portal protection

Hi M Asic 12345
It looks better then.

I would try to picture three kinds of layout.
Fig.1, maybe similarity right now, once powder dropping from top feeder, there is printhead plate affected by powder wave even cap protection.
Fig.3, there is issue about cover of meachaine due to powder feeder.

I hope to view the others, for instance
Ink delivery,
printhead cap,
printhead wiper,
drop detection,
ink spittoon,
or maybe blowing outlet, filter and heater.
