I'm sorry, I misunderstood you. Now I see what you mean, I still need to convert the bitmap into 1Bit format, but with the pattern simulating the grayscale like the attached example image
I wrote a simple program to convert image to halftone (1Bit format) grayscale for testing.

Re: Hacking the HP45
Looks good. Do that with 4 colors and you have a full color image. What did you write the program with?
A small announcement. I am quickly reaching the point where I don't want to move the printhead by hand anymore. I am currently pushing through the last changes in the housing, gantry and initial simplified piston design of Oasis. This is by no means the final form of Oasis, but the first form I will test with. It has a piston with a diameter around 70mm and a stroke of roughly 50mm. It is not the biggest but incredibly simple. In the future I will redesign the gantry and pistons.

@dragonator -The program written in C#. It converts color image to 4 (CMYK) 1-Bit bitmaps
Re: Hacking the HP45
Example of all 4 layers in 1-Bit pixel format. In order to test I'll need 4 assembled controllers.

Re: Hacking the HP45
Attached are the Gerber files and the HP45 V1.01 controller source in beautiful Fritzing format. Good luck with it. If you are looking for me, I will be designing Oasis.

Re: Hacking the HP45
Thanks for posting the design files and for all good hard work you have already done!
Oasis going to look cool.

Re: Hacking the HP45
Has anyone found individual CMY cartridges fitting this form factor and pinout? The only thing I've been able to find so far has been the larger one with all 3 integrated together.
Re: Hacking the HP45
What's wrong with cleaning 3 HP45 and filling them with cyan, magenta and yellow? I'm planning to use HP45 for CMYK with continuous ink supply.
Re: Hacking the HP45
Oh? How do you plan to clean them? The last time I tried cleaning the hp tij 1.0 based heads, I had to take a hack saw to it and open it up to totally clean the sponge out.
I'm also very curious about your continuous ink system.

Re: Hacking the HP45
HP45 is hollow and does not have sponge.
