Is Primitive side = HP45 side? So pogo pins sticking out of the primitive side?

Address side needs to face the HP45 with the text (and the components) facing away from the printhead. The primitive side is on top of that (with a roughly 5mm spacing) also with the text facing away from the printhead.

Address side has components on only one side so it can be mounted flush against a carrier.

So I got it completely wrong.

@dragonator -could you please take a closeup picture of the assembled controller for reference when you have a chance. I don't want to screw this up.

The lack of write-up is also bothering me a little bit, but I am absolutely buried in work right now and have most of my little free time on Oasis. Don't expect it for at least a couple more weeks. Around Christmas I have some free time. Around that time I should be able to make the first draft of the write-up.

Don't worry about it that much. I think these photos pretty much explains how to assemble the HP45 controller V1.01. If not we can always ask for additional info. I will definitely have more questions after I assemble one.

I wonder how come I didn't found it earlier ! we would have been progressed a lot. I am interested to buid a printer for a flat surface.

Hello and welcome

The connector link has plenty of nice parts, though I wonder if any of it is available to ordinary consumers in normal quantities. I do like that I can see the carrier. I can see if I can replicate it. I am very curious about getting a pen controller (C8855M) in the future. I now have the documentation (sadly I have not been given permission to publish openly , but contact me for a copy) to control it, which gives some really nice details on how the HP45 is supposed to work. I will condense what it says into a few posts later.

The Chinese vendors are really interesting. The pogo pin connectors should be a direct fit to a HP45. The only thing I am really curious about is the function of the additional components on the board.
