Hi there,

I used an array of MOSFET instead of level shifting chips to raise the voltage.

The situation is exactly the same as previously reported here: I can't get all the nozzles to fire at the same time.

Yet I have one more problem: when (I was attempting to) fire all the nozzle at the same time, a firing time of even 200ns gives quite a lot of inks out. But if I try do to it with anything longer than 1us I always end up burning the entire printhead (so far two of them were gone...). However if I only fire a single nozzle I do need 2us or so to get the ink to spew out.

Did anyone have the same problem I wonder?

Hello.
I have an old printer HP PSC-500. This printer use cartridge HP15.
I want to use this printer to test refilled cartridge HP45.
I try, sometime the printer work with HP45 cartridge, but sometime not work.
I can do something to make this printer to work alltimes with HP45 cartridge?

It is difficult to answer from here. We need to know why it is that the cartridges do not work. Without that knowledge I do not know any solutions.

The cartridge dont work because de printer identified the cartridge to be wrong model (C51645) not C6615.
I want to ask how the printer identifies the type of cartridge and how to trick it to work with C51645 instead of C6615

I am not really sure how it does identify the printhead. I know there is a bunch of resistors in the head that measure different depending on the polarity, but I have not had a deep investigation in how this is used to identify the printheads.

i dont know the trick anymore. Maybe you can google something like "HP45 Convert Tape Trick" Mayby you have a look at https://www.en.relenado.com/2014/12/how ... f-ink.html and https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic ... 1&t=707182 and http://aftermarketchips.com/files/HP45-15ing.pdf

@dragonator I investigated your description on how to refill binder for HP45 on hackaday.io (Oasis), but you also mentioned that you will write more detailed description later. Is it published somewhere or that one is the only one right now?

Thanks

That is the only one right now.

With the HP45 V4 controller I am still to write a new version of that document, but chip shortages, some setbacks and lack of time has hindered that project for a few months now.

If there are specific questions feel free to ask, I am sure I can help if you need. As for me writing the new guide, I cannot give a fixed time when I will get to it.

@dragonator That is fine. I will try to refill that myself and if all goes OK, I have like 4-5 HP45 heads and I might write that description for you. There are quite a few videos on YT regarding refill procedure for these heads. Since you have more experience points, you could then just append that description if needed and that's all.

I have made depowder chamber for my printer and I will post update next week on my printer's thread. One additional update is still pending regarding constantly-heated build pistons. I am thinking of this in order to shorten wait time for the binder/PVA to cure. I simply expect to reduce waiting time and maybe take out the printed object almost right away instead of waiting for quite a few hours or overnight. I will post that also next week.

By the way, to save some time, could you send me STL or (even better) SolidWorks part of that adapter you used with O-ring to suck ink out of HP45?
